A Vast Majority Of Nintendo Switch Owners Transitioned From Switch

The Switch 2 is already the fastest-selling Nintendo hardware to date, and data coming directly from the company indicates that most Switch 2 owners also owned a Switch 1.

In Nintendo's latest earnings briefing, the company revealed that 84% of Switch 2 owners were Switch 1 players who made the jump to the new hardware. The figure is based on Nintendo's data as of September 30.

"This high percentage shows that many consumers who enjoyed Nintendo Switch are smoothly transitioning to Nintendo Switch 2, allowing us to maintain our relationships with them across platform generations," read Nintendo's report.
