Dandadan was one of the most interesting anime debuts of 2024. The series adapts the popular manga of the same name, which follows Japanese high school students Momo and Okarun. Both investigate paranormal phenomena, though they don't see eye to eye. Momo believes in ghosts but doesn't think aliens are real, while Okarun believes in aliens but not ghosts. Naturally, they soon discover that ghosts and aliens are both very real and very dangerous. Fortunately, both gain supernatural abilities to use against the paranormal forces threatening their world. The anime is produced by Science Saru--the same studio behind the recent Scott Pilgrim Takes Off animated series--and the animation does justice to mangaka Yukinobu Tatsu's original art.
