Gorillaz Classic Flash Game Site Kong Studios Is Back From The Dead
Flash games were everywhere in the late '90s and early 2000s, as they were an easy way to play games on the internet, no downloads required. Unfortunately, many of these games are now lost due to Flash having been discontinued in 2020, but others were lost even before then as they were harder to preserve. One such game was actually from the fictional musical group Gorillaz called Kong Studios, and in a bit of a surprise move, the game has been brought back to life.
The original Kong Studios arrived on the internet in 1998, and was the fictitious recording studio that Gorillaz made their albums in. You could wander round the studio, listen to some music, and discover hidden secrets, but the game was shut down in 2008. Except now it's back!
The news was shared on the official Gorillaz YouTube channel, and if you head to the site you can play a game inspired by the music video for Clint Eastwood where you have to fend off, well, gorillas in a first-person-shooter-style perspective as you make your way to Kong Studios.
