Magic The Gathering Goes Super Sonic With New Secret Lair Collab

Make room Cloud, Tifa, and Kefka, Sonic the Hedgehog and company are dashing over to Magic: The Gathering in a new collaboration. However, unlike the recent Final Fantasy sets, Sonic is getting three individual Secret Lair drops. Secret Lair is what Magic calls its series of timed releases that contain just a handful of specific cards with special art.

"This drop features seven new designs that bring the amazing Sonic the Hedgehog characters to life," the official description reads (via Variety). "Wizards of the Coast paired the new card designs with original art, including some from fan-favorite Sonic artists doing their first-ever work for Magic: The Gathering cards."

The first drop, the Turbo Gear drop, includes a few fitting staples of Magic's most popular format, Commander, like Swiftfoot Boots and Lightning Greaves--because, of course, Sonic's iconic kicks deserve their own cards. It'll also feature cards for Sonic, Super State, Shadow, Tails, Dr. Eggman, Amy Rose, and Knuckles.
