ROG Xbox Ally Preorder Guide Release Date Specs And More
The ROG Xbox Ally and Xbox Ally X launch in less than a month, but as with many new tech products this year, there's some uncertainty on the price of the first Xbox-branded handhelds. Official price points have yet to be confirmed by Microsoft or Asus. As such, it's unclear when preorders will be available ahead of the ROG Xbox Ally's October 16 launch. Clarity on these questions could come very soon, though.
With Xbox hosting a livestream at the Tokyo Game Show this week, we wouldn't be surprised if more details are revealed during the event. The Xbox presentation is scheduled for Thursday, September 25, at 3 AM PT / 6 AM ET. Xbox has also said Tokyo Game Show attendees will be able to try the new handhelds on the show floor.

While Amazon has removed its store pages, Best Buy still has both handhelds on its site. At one point, the ROG Xbox Ally was listed at $550, while the ROG Xbox Ally X was $850. The prices were quickly removed, so it's possible the final price points will differ. As we've come to expect, the ongoing tariff situation in the US is playing a major role here. Just last week, Microsoft announced price increases for the Xbox Series X|S in the US; the new prices take effect October 3. With this in mind, the $550/$850 price points are likely the best case scenario.
