The Hobbit Graphic Novel Expanded Edition Gets Nice Launch Discount At Amazon
The graphic novel adaptation of J.R.R. Tolkien's The Hobbit is now available in hardcover with nearly 50 pages of new content. Published September 16 by William Morrow, The Hobbit: A Graphic Novel - Revised and Expanded Edition has received a 20% launch discount at Amazon that drops the price to $28 (was $35).
The 144-page paperback edition of The Hobbit: A Graphic Novel was reissued last year and is available for $14.72 (was $23) at Amazon. The new hardcover edition, in comparison, is 192 pages and will appeal to longtime fans and anyone who is interested in the creative process.

The Hobbit: A Graphic Novel was adapted by Charles Dixon and illustrated with full-color paintings by Dave Wenzel. The cover art for the Revised and Expanded Edition features Gandalf approaching Bag End in The Shire. This artwork was used for earlier editions, but it appears to have been remastered for this release.
In the pages unique to this edition, illustrator Dave Wenzel looks back on the creation of the adaptation. Eclipse Comics published The Hobbit as a three-issue comic series back in 1989. The upcoming hardcover edition includes previously unreleased artwork created for the original comics. Wenzel also provides commentary and insights on the origins of the adaptation and how he approached illustrating scenes from Tolkien's iconic novel.
Since its original publication, The Hobbit: A Graphic Novel has offered a great way to introduce younger readers to J.R.R. Tolkien's fantasy world. I've read the graphic novel adaptation to both of my children, and they loved it.
