A Mysterious Helldivers Signal Sure Sounds Like Halo ODSTs Superintendent

Helldivers 2 is gearing up for its Xbox release on August 26, and fans have found even more evidence of an imminent crossover with Halo in the form of a mysterious signal that sounds suspiciously like Halo 3: ODST's Superintendent.

The crossover seems to be all but confirmed at this point, with the latest Helldivers 2 trailer teasing a Halo 3: ODST collab by including some of the game's iconic music (which begins at the 1:17 timestamp, no less) set amidst the backdrop of a rainy city. Now, fans have put together yet another tease, this time in the form of a mysterious signal from the Helldivers Discord server (via GamesRadar).

At first, the signal seems familiar but doesn't quite sound like anything from Halo. However, when the signal's audio is reversed, it sounds almost identical to the phone alarm for the AI Superintendent from Halo 3: ODST. It's that alarm which helps guide ODST's Rookie through the embattled streets of New Mombasa following a Covenant invasion. Is the Superintendent now trying to warn Helldivers of a coming threat?
